Frazer’s ministries of Peace, Justice, and Evangelism are how we share the good news of Christ with the world around us.  As followers of Jesus, and specifically as Mennonites, we want everything that we do to communicate Christ’s love for all people.  Our ministries of Peace, Justice, and Evangelism are some of the most important ways that we focus externally; we look outside of our walls, both physical and metaphorical, and seek to interact with the world around us.  By doing this, we hope to build mutually transformative relationships with our neighbors near and far.  Some of the ministries included in this area are:

  • Safe Harbor of Chester County: Providing meals and food to a local emergency shelter that provides for the needs of homeless men and women.

  • Farmstand
  • Ploughshares Community Garden: a community garden started by FMC in the spring of 2008 on our church property.  The goal was to create a place where local community members could connect with one another and with God’s creation and also grow affordable healthy food.  Since then, the garden has continued to grow and has recently added plots specifically growing food for the Chester County Food Bank.

  • Gathering Hope: A grassroots, community-based organization that serves our Latino neighbors by providing English classes and life skills workshops at Great Valley High School. The evening program began in 2012.  The goal was to grow relationships with our Spanish speaking neighbors as they grew their English skills.

  • Book Buddies: a summer literacy program in a nearby neighborhood.  At Book Buddies, volunteers read to children throughout the summer.  The goal is to build relationships and encourage a love of reading.

  • Quilting Ministries – FMC member, Kay Gannon, gives leadership to making small lap quilts for persons experiencing a significant illness, death of a loved one or a crisis.  This past year, three traveling “Caring Quilts” were created to go from household to household as tangible signs of the care and prayers of the congregation as individuals need particular support for what is happening in their lives.

  • sharing a mealHonduran Partnership Team: FMC appreciates our partnership with Iglesia Evangelica Menonita Central in La Ceiba, Honduras.  Since 2006, we have been sending teams back and forth between the two congregations, getting to know one another, and sharing Christ’s love across national and cultural boundaries.

  • Mennonite Disaster Service is a volunteer network of Anabaptist churches that responds in Christian love to those affected by disasters in Canada and the United States.  While the main focus is on clean up, repair and rebuilding homes, this service touches lives and nurtures hope, faith and wholeness.
  • Various broader ministries supported by our FMC budget:
    • Mennonite Central Committee shares God's love and compassion for all in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice.

    • Eastern Mennonite Missions workers share the good news of Jesus and His kingdom in many ways, including business for transformation, ministry to children at risk, discipleship training, education, health and community development, hospitality, international partnerships, leadership training, Muslim ministry, care for the persecuted church, pioneer witness, and relief. Through FMC giving to EMM, we currently provide support for the Michael and Nancy Hostetter family and the Keith and Sandy Probst family, both of whom are serving in Chile.

    • Mennonite Mission Network a mission agency of Mennonite Church USA.

    • Corinthian Plan - mutual aid for Mennonite pastors’ health insurance.
